Our client’s Microsoft Business Solutions team is a Microsoft Gold Partner and leader in Microsoft software implementations for medium to large organisations, providing their clients with the ability to keep up with the ever-changing digital world by implementing Microsoft’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Engagement (CE) software from the Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) software line.

  

Role Overview

The Dynamics Finance and Operations (F&O) Technical Consultant is a core team member of our client’s customer delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 centred solutions. The Technical Consultant will play a crucial role within the F&O Practice, contribute to, and support the technical build and design of high-quality F&O solutions and the supporting infrastructure for our clients.

  

The role consists of both technical and analytical tasks, covering requirements clarifications, technical analysis and design, development, support, and client interaction to deliver Dynamics F&O based solutions. You will work closely with both the functional/technical team, offshore colleagues, and the clients of their Microsoft Business Solutions, demonstrating a hands-on approach combined with an effective balance between soft skills and a broad range of technical skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O
  • A good understanding of software development lifecycle, development management, release management, data migrations, cut-over planning, and early live support
  • A good understanding of best practices including code management (i.e. source control), unit testing methodologies and build processes
  • An understating of D365FO interfacing and integration
  • Knowledge of best practices for working with offshore teams and on multi-national projects.
  • Experience of Agile Methodology
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and workshops, and to present to customers, colleagues, and project stakeholders
  • Understanding of Dynamics 365 F&O technical capabilities and limitations
  • Fluency in Office Suite tools
  • Solid experience with object-oriented-programming (OOP)
  • Experience in providing development solutions in a D365O environment
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of software lifecycles
  • Proficient in relational and/ or document- based databases
  • Technical knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server, Reporting Services (SSRS) Integration Services and Analysis Services
  • Knowledge of Lifecycle Services and DevOps/Visual Studio Team Services
  • An understanding of the core Power Platform components, including PowerApps, Power Automate, LogicApps and Common Data Service
  • Knowledge of other technologies such as SQL PowerBI, SharePoint and ideally .Net
  • An awareness of the broader Microsoft stack and Azure services
  • Pre-sales experience is desirable

  

Skills and Qualifications

  • A relevant degree within a computational discipline
  • A Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Core Certification together with a Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Technical Certification and a Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Functional Certification, a Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals would be considered as an asset
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong presentation skills. Clear & effective communication.
  • Confident in own ability and demonstrates this to clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Thinks clearly and responds calmly when under pressure

Main Responsibilities

  

Project Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the technical delivery of high-quality business solutions to our clients using knowledge of Dynamics F&O technical capabilities and associated infrastructure, working closely with client and delivery teams and business stakeholders
  • Help organise, contribute to and document workshops, meetings and requirements sessions with the client representatives, project stakeholders and delivery team(s)
  • Interface effectively with other members of the delivery team and the solution Architect to ensure that the solution meets client’s requirements
  • Provide on-site support as required by company or client
  • Support the creation of high quality and sustainable client solutions and project documentation including support for testing activities
  • Deliver all consultancy and configuration work according to our client’s project methodology, ensuring that all software applications are implemented successfully according to the project plan: on time and on budget
  • Working as part of a multi-talented team and contribute towards project architectural design, client solutions and project documentation
  • Participate and contributing to project related ceremonies, working in an Agile, Waterfall or DevOps approach depending on the business requirements
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, while observing and working through internal processes by understanding project stages, methodologies used to project delivery depending on the practice they are assigned to
  • Responsible for mentoring, leading and collaborating with other more junior developers within the team
  • Ensure that all stakeholders are updated with progress or troubleshooting on assigned projects in a timely manner, where applicable
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of best practices including code management (i.e. source control), unit testing methodologies and build processes and code reviews
  • Identify any risks and issues early and raise through the appropriate governance channels
  • Working with both on-shore and off/near-shore development teams
  • Always adhere to our client’s MBS best practice and standards
  • Always represent our client’s Microsoft Business Solutions in a professional and positive manner
      

Practice Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong pulse on market trends and competitive insights that could be beneficial for the team and stakeholders
  • Be an active member of technical and design working groups within the practice
  • Contribute to the creation of our client’s Dynamics 365 solutions and industry templates
  • Promotes the Values of our company
  • Ensure timely completion of internal processes and mandatory trainings
  • Help and mentor juniors
  • Adhere to best practice and our client’s technical standards during all development
  • Willing to travel abroad when required
  • To carry out additional duties as may occur from time to time as instructed and agreed by the Practice management team
