Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Performance Marketing Manager to join their team. This pivotal role will be responsible for strategizing, executing, and managing all paid media campaigns with the primary goal of driving new customer acquisition for our client. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience across key digital channels and a proven track record of managing significant media budgets and delivering a strong Return on Ad Spend (ROAS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Blueprint) are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a hands-on performance marketing or paid media role, ideally within an e-commerce, gaming, or high-volume transaction business.
  • Experience in the sports betting/iGaming industry or a closely related vertical is a significant advantage.
  • Extensive experience managing key acquisition channels including Google Ads and Meta Ads, with a proven track record of scaling accounts profitably.
  • Demonstrable experience managing media budgets in excess of R500k per month.
  • Strong understanding of marketing measurement, tracking, and attribution models (MMPs, server-side tracking, GTM, etc.).
  • Expertise in A/B testing methodologies for both ad creative and landing pages.
  • Highly analytical and data-driven—proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and comfortable manipulating large data sets to drive business decisions.
  • Thorough knowledge of the South African media landscape, consumer behavior, and relevant regulatory requirements for the online betting/gaming industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex performance data into clear, actionable insights.

   

Responsibilities

 

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop, execute, and manage a comprehensive performance marketing strategy to drive high-quality customer acquisition, focusing on measurable ROI and LTV (Lifetime Value).
  • Own and manage a substantial paid media budget, allocating spend across channels to maximize efficiency and growth.
  • Conduct in-depth market, competitor, and customer research to identify new opportunities and optimize channel mix.

  

Campaign Execution & Optimization

Hands-on management of all paid media campaigns, including but not limited to:

  • Search Engine Marketing (SEM): Extensive experience with Google Ads (Search, Display, App Campaigns, PMax).
  • Paid Social: Deep expertise in running highly effective campaigns across
  • platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Twitter/X, and TikTok.
  • Programmatic/Display: Managing demand-side platforms (DSPs) and direct
  • inventory buys.
  • App Marketing: Strong knowledge of App Store Optimization (ASO) and running effective

  

App Install campaigns on both iOS and Android.

  • Manage the end-to-end campaign lifecycle, including audience targeting, creative testing, bidding strategies, and landing page optimization.
  • Partner with the creative team to ensure a continuous pipeline of high-performing ad creative that adheres to channel best practices and regulatory requirements.

  

Analytics, Reporting & Technology

  • Rigorously monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance across all key metrics (CPA, CPC, CTR, Conversion Rate, ROAS, etc.).
  • Utilize attribution tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, MMPs like Adjust or AppsFlyer) to accurately track performance and inform optimization decisions.
  • Identify, test, and implement new tools, technologies, and innovative ad formats to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Present detailed performance reports and insights to senior management, providing clear strategic recommendations.
