Our client is an venture-backed early-stage start-up on a mission to revolutionize the financial system underpinning healthcare. They aim to launch a tech platform that seamlessly connects doctors, patients, and financial services providers to ensure that patients are able to fund their healthcare expenses. As the leader of the product org, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their company.
Role Overview
As the product leader and a founding team member at their startup, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design and user experience of their MVP. You will work closely with the founder, developers and designer to translate the vision into a functional and intuitive product. This is a unique opportunity to build a product from scratch, iterate rapidly, and have a direct impact on the success of their company.

Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years of product management experience, preferably in consumer product, lending, healthcare, or a combination of these, with a track record of bringing products from concept to market.
- Passion for solving problems for Africa and / or Emerging Markets
- Startup Experience: Previous experience working in a startup environment, especially at the pre-seed or early stages.
- Product Leadership: Proven experience in defining product strategy, managing roadmaps, and leading cross-functional teams.
- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of technology and the product development process, with the ability to work closely with engineers and designers.
- User-Centric Approach: Deep empathy for users and a passion for solving their problems through innovative products.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to pivot quickly based on feedback and changing priorities.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Healthcare and/or Digital Lending Experience: Previous experience in the healthcare, digital lending or a related field
- Empathy for and experience working with customer across low to high income levels
Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Vision: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the company’s mission and business goals.
- Product Roadmap: Create and manage a product roadmap, prioritizing features and improvements based on user needs, market demands, and business impact.
- MVP Development: Lead the end-to-end development of the MVP, working closely with engineering and design teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
- User Research & Insights: Conduct user research and gather insights to deeply understand their target market, customer pain points, and competitive landscape.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the founder, engineering and design to ensure seamless product development resulting in a product which aligns with business goals and user needs
- Data-Driven Decisions: Use data and analytics to inform product decisions, track product performance, and iterate on the product post-launch.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Work with the founder to develop a go-to-market strategy, including product positioning, messaging, and launch planning.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing product team as the company grows, fostering a culture of innovation and customer-centricity.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for product-related matters, effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
