Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Growth Marketing Manager with a strong marketing operations background to drive daily loan and customer growth. This role owns the full lead funnel, from acquisition to conversion, and focuses on making existing channels, testing new, more efficient ways to generate and convert leads.
The key focus is to qualify applications every day, at lower cost, with better conversion. This role also carries an operational focus, including supporting the setup of the Cape Town office and assisting with the transition of existing staff from Johannesburg to Cape Town where required.

Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in marketing, growth, or marketing operations roles
- Strong understanding of lead generation and funnel performance in the SA market
- Experience working with PPC, affiliates, or lead generation partners
- Comfortable with data, reporting, and performance tracking (CPL, CPA, conversion)
- Strong execution mindset with daily ownership of results
- Exposure to financial services, lending, or insurance preferred
- Strong focus on commercial impact, including measurable sales uplift
- Proven ability to implement and optimise paid search programmes that drive revenue
- Experience expanding and scaling lead generation channels with clear performance outcomes
- Prioritises execution that delivers revenue growth before broader brand or awareness initiatives
Tools and Systems Experience
Experience using Salesforce to capture and manage leads, as well as Metabase for reporting, would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Growth & lead generation
- Own lead generation strategy across digital and offline channels
- Manage lead partners, affiliates, and third-party lead generators
- Set and optimise budgets for CPL, CPA, and conversion performance
- Drive daily growth in loan applications and funded customers
Marketing performance & funnel optimisation
- Manage PPC campaigns across Google and Meta, including tracking and optimisation
- Monitor and improve full funnel performance (click → application → approval → funding)
- Track and report on CPL, CPA, conversion rates, and retention performance
- Continuously test and improve landing pages and application flow
Customer journey & digital experience
- Ensure website and application journeys are accurate, compliant, and optimised for conversion
- Improve online application functionality and reduce drop-offs
- Use data to refine customer journeys and improve retention
Channel expansion & retention
- Drive growth through SMS, WhatsApp, and alternative digital channels
- Improve upsell performance for insurance and add-on products
- Re-engage existing customers using behavioural and usage data
Supplier & ecosystem management
- Manage relationships with banks, bureaus, data providers, and payment partners
- Review and improve performance of external marketing and data vendors
- Identify more efficient and cost-effective channel partners
Compliance & operational alignment
- Ensure website, campaigns, and lead processes meet regulatory requirements
- Work closely with operations to ensure lead quality and conversion efficiency
