Role Overview

Our client is hiring a strong Business Development Manager based in Lagos to drive strategic sales execution across Nigeria’s most innovative, banks, wallets, crypto platforms, and lending companies. This individual will champion market expansion efforts while serving as a trusted partner to high-level stakeholders across the digital financial ecosystem.

  

This role is ideal for someone experienced in selling enterprise or SaaS solutions, who thrives in dynamic, early-stage environments, and brings a hands-on, scrappy, and execution-focused approach to all aspects of their work. You will own deals end-to-end from first engagement to close, while contributing to the ongoing evolution of the go-to-market strategy in Nigeria.

  

You will also occasionally support enterprise sales motions with other large institutions.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience in sales or partnerships, ideally within fintech, SaaS, fraud prevention, AML, or financial services
  • Demonstrated client relationship management experience, including communication and engagement with senior and C-level stakeholders
  • Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to drive multiple workstreams and consistently deliver against deadlines
  • Solid business process management experience, ensuring predictable, scalable, and efficient sales and operational workflows
  • Scrappy execution mindset, with the ability to build structure in ambiguity, take initiative, and solve problems proactively
  • Hands-on operational approach, demonstrating ownership across sales, internal coordination, and customer engagement
  • Comfortable selling technical products and translating complex concepts into clear value propositions
  • Self-starter with high adaptability, resilience, and comfort operating without micromanagement
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a mindset that “sweats the small stuff” to ensure excellence across all client touchpoints
  • Strong communication skills, a persuasive sales presence, and a track record of closing complex deals
  • Experience partnering with product and technical teams to channel customer insights into product roadmaps
  • Previous experience in startup or high-growth environments is highly advantageous

   

Responsibilities

  • Lead sales of our client’s fraud prevention and risk intelligence platform to high-growth banks, crypto companies, digital wallets, and lending institutions
  • Own the full sales lifecycle, including pipeline generation, discovery, solution presentations, demos, contract negotiation, and deal closure
  • Build, manage, and nurture relationships with clients at senior and executive levels to support both immediate deal closing and long-term account growth
  • Maintain disciplined CRM usage to track opportunities, forecast with accuracy, and communicate performance transparently
  • Partner closely with the founding team to refine market messaging, strengthen product-market fit, and advance the Nigeria go-to-market strategy
  • Execute high-quality follow-up on inbound leads, shaping tailored value propositions that address each prospect’s risk and fraud challenges
  • Reactivate cold leads and maintain ongoing engagement through structured touchpoints, in-person meetings, and consultative discussions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and customer success teams to ensure customer feedback informs continuous product improvement
  • Support high-touch enterprise sales engagements with banks, telcos, and traditional financial institutions
