Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Collections & Payments Analytics Specialist to improve how they recover payments using data, automation, and modern payment tools. The focus is simple: reduce arrears, improve cash flow, and build smarter, faster ways to collect payments.
This role sits between collections, payment systems, and analytics, with a strong focus on execution, daily performance improvement, and AI driven process optimisation.

Requirements
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in collections, credit control, payments, or revenue recovery
- Strong Excel and reporting ability
- Comfortable working with systems, data, and automation tools
- Strong problem solving mindset and ownership of outcomes
- Genuine interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies
- Knowledge of third party collections systems in the South African market
- Highly independent and self-driven, with the ability to take ownership of projects, identify priorities, and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision
- Experience in fintech, utilities, telecoms, or lending preferred
Tools and Systems Experience
Experience using Salesforce to capture and manage leads, as well as Metabase for reporting, would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Manage and improve daily collections performance and arrears tracking
- Build reporting and insights on payment behaviour, risk, and recovery trends
- Design and run targeted collections campaigns based on data
- Improve payment success rates and reduce failed transactions
- Support automation of collections using tools such as chatbots, WhatsApp/SMS, workflow automation, and AI driven tools
- Work with payment systems and providers to improve clearance and routing
- Help reduce reliance on manual/BPO processes by improving in house capability
- Support compliance reporting, audits, and VAT recovery processes
- Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and analytics to improve collections performance
